Ballet: Refining Your Technique

After a warm-up focused on alignment, core strength and breath, we will examine some common ballet steps in-depth, with additional work on focus and direction. We will then move on to short phrases, applying the techniques we've reviewed, linking steps together, and relating to the rhythm of the music. This workshop is intended both for advanced beginning dancers looking to improve or explore intermediate-level work and for intermediate/advanced dancers looking to review and sharpen their skills. The workshop will be ballet specific, but the tools may be applied to other forms of dance.

Mindfulness Yoga for Children

Yoga resonates with children. They love the practice and they love how they feel afterwards. As a bonus, a child who learns yoga and relaxation will be developing beneficial skills they can use throughout their life. Practicing yoga can help a child develop concentration, patience, gentleness, strength, creativity, and stability. These are the building blocks that create the foundation for a happy and healthy life. In this workshop for kids ages 7-10 years, we will explore breath work, poses, and relaxation through the use of songs, games, imaginative play, creative storytelling, and more.
