This is a hot jazz class peppered with street, funk and hip-hop, as well as other music video dance styles. Rock, alternative, commercial, latin and pop music will add spice as you strengthen you basic technique through the warm-up and fun combinations. Some jazz experience recommended.

Break dancing originated in New York City in the early 70’s and is one of the Four Elements of Hip-Hop. In this physically demanding class, you’ll learn moves such as toprocking, uprocking, and freezes, as well as footwork and power moves. This is a beginning level class.

Come dance the rhythm! Students in the beginning-level class will learn and practice the basics of tap technique; the continuing level will teach more complex rhythms and steps. Tap shoes recommended but not required.

You can pretend you’re a star on Broadway in this exciting theater dance class! After a warm-up and across the floor exercises designed to develop your technique, you’ll learn fun combinations from musicals such as The Wiz and Chorus Line, among others. For beginners as well as those with some dance experience.

Get a great aerobic workout while learning this fun, high-spirited traditional American folk dance done to bluegrass and contemporary music. This is a beginning-level class; hard-soled or tap shoes recommended.

Capoeira is a dynamic Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines self-defense, dance, acrobatics and music. Working individually and in partners, you will learn the basic movements, strategies and songs of capoeira. All levels welcome!

Shag
The official state dance of both Carolinas and a favorite at the beach,
the shag has a smooth, relaxed Southern style with an easy swing,
precise footwork, and mirror-image partner steps. This class introduces
beginning students to the basic steps, as well as a number of variations
and turns. You need not bring a partner; smooth-soled shoes recommended.

Taijiquan (T'ai-Chi) is a martial art and
exercise for overall well-being and conditioning--a system of meditative
yet dynamic movement that improves energy flow throughout the body,
